2Sporadic reception, uncomfortable controller  Sep 12, 2009
I have encountered 2 consistent problems when using this headset. First, the controller that clips on your shirt is uncomfortable to wear, particularly while exercising. Next is the reception. I can be working out in the same place (on a treadmill 7 feet from the source) and experience great reception for a few minutes followed by interruptions in reception that typically require rearranging the wires from the controller to the earbuds numerous times. All things considered I wouldn't have bought the product if I had known I would experience this type of performance.

5Has everything I need  Jun 10, 2009
This is exactly the same device as the Sonorix C3 Bluetooth Stereo Headset with Caller ID & Removable Earphones. The reason why I chose the Tritton, at the time, was the lower price. (May 2009)

I wanted something that would play both music and to answer/make calls with. The Caller ID display was the biggest selling point for me, which allows me to not have to reach for the phone to see who's calling. The music playback (A2DP) and player controls (AVRCP) work perfectly with my BlackBerry Curve 8320.

The multi-function button seems to be a little "too" multi-function. Pressing the button too long or not a the right time will give you undesired results, as well as the functionality of the + and - buttons. They all do different things depending on which mode you're in (phone or music.) Read the manual, and you'll quickly get used to it. This was not a big enough issue for me to take away a star from my rating.

Battery life is good, although I have not used it for any extended period of time yet. Its nice that USB is used for charging it's battery. This way you can leave the charger at home, and use your PC to charge it at work. I also have a USB charger (from my GPS) in my vehicle that is compatible, so the charging options are endless.

The OLED display is small, but very clear and legible. It is difficult to see outdoors, especially in direct sunlight, which also isn't enough of a reason to take away a star.

*** This device also works well with my PC for Skype calls. ***

I really like this device and highly recommend it.

4Great Little Gadget  Sep 22, 2008
I have owned this product for about 9 months now and I have a really good idea on its performance.

The biggest reason I wanted something like this is because I have a pair of really nice headphones (Shure SE530's) and I love listening to my iPod. I take the train to work, and I found that I kept missing calls because I couldn't hear my phone...I wanted something that I could use (via bluetooth) that would be able to allow me to both answer my phone calls as well as listen to my music (via A2DP). Enter this little gadget!

The first thing I like about it is that I can just clip it on to my collar or t-shirt and it doesn't feel uncomfortable. I have one of those headphones that can disconnect in the middle so that the headphone is only like one foot long instead of 4 feet or whatever; so when I go for jogs, I use an armband with my Palm Treo, plug the shortened headphones into my Tritton, clip it onto my shirt and I use my Treo as my iPod and telephone!!!

When you get calls, the caller ID will show up on the device, cut the music and ring through the headphones. If you want to answer the call, simply press the button, and you can hear the other person through the headphones. There is a little hole on top of the device that serves as the microphone. From everyone that I talk to on this thing, they say that they could hear me pretty well. If there is a lot of noise in the background, it does pick up on it, but not to the point where it becomes overly difficult for someone to hear me.

The battery life is really great...they use this lithium-ion polymer or something and it works out pretty well. I can usually go a couple days without charging. Charging is also simple enough, its just a mini-usb...which you can plug directly into a computer (no proprietary charging thingys to buy!).

One gripe...I wish that the volume could be a little louder. Don't get me wrong, its not really bad or anything...You know when you get a song thats just really good, and you want to turn it up? This one can't do it. It just goes up enough so that you can really enjoy it, but you just can't blast it. I assume they do this so that you can use it for longer intervals between charging.

Thats pretty much it! Great little device. I highly recommend this to people who listen to music from their cell phone, want to listen to that music on headphones, and don't want to switch back and forth from headphones and a bluetooth headset.

4The other customer has no idea what he was talking about  Apr 08, 2008
It is very easy to pair, hold the button and it starts to pair. It has volume control and pause and play capabilities. The only drawback is it is a class 2 device and not a class 1 device which limits its receiving range. The sound quality is not great - but pretty good, you really need a class 1 transmitter to use it correctly and not a class 2 transmitter. It needs a strong signal. Sony has such a device as does GE. It has a 3.5 inch jack for your own ear phones and a very nice display. It is kind of cool actually - just wish a little more sensitive for reception and a little more volume - but that depeneds on the source input as well - so overall a 4. (and yes it clearly has a volume control with a + and a - to control it.

I am making a revision to this - Search for a CLASS 1 receiving - Don't settle for Class 2. The reception on Class 1 is much greater - you won't regret paying extra money for clarity on range on buying a Class 1 receive with a Class 1 transmitter. (Both have to be Class 1). Class 2 is good for maybe 20 feet. This is a class 2 device.
